First day on the job for new UA president

Scott Scarborough

AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) – The new president of the University of Akron began his tenure Tuesday.

Scott Scarborough is leading the school where Jim Tressel was most recently the executive vice president for student success.

That position has not been filled and Scarborough will determine if the position will be eliminated. The Office of Student Success remains open.

Three employees who work in the office are taking on extra duties. They received a one-time stipend of about $10,000 for the extra workload.
