JFK hires Richards as boys coach

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren JFK has hired John Richards as its new boys varisty basketball coach.

Richards is a 1994 graduate of John F. Kennedy Catholic School. He brings over ten years of coaching experience, having spent a majority of his coaching career directing and building a winning freshman program at Kennedy where his record was 53-43.

“I am truly honored to be the next basketball coach at JFK,” Richards said. “I look forward to building on the successes and traditions set before me by the many outstanding coaches who have given their time and talent to Kennedy.”

Richards replaces Shawn Pompelia who was not offered a new contract, after spending three years rebuilding the program in a second stint as head coach.
