Auto dealers donate to Rich Center

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio presented a large donation to the Rich Center for Autism on Wednesday.

The $55,139 donation was raised at a gala auction this spring. Dealers have been holding the charity auction for 16 years.

Board president Chuck Eddy said it is part of a long tradition of community service for auto dealerships.

“Dealers get pulled in a lot of different ways in the community. Whether it’s little league teams, the baseball teams, soccer teams. Whether it is a new building at a university, whether it is building a high school. But whenever we can get involved with peoples’ families, with children that need help, that is where I feel is the highest calling,” Eddy said.

Over the past 16 years, the association has given $627,087 in charitable contributions raised from the event.
