Canfield golf outing

CANFIELD, Ohio — A group of Canfield grads came together today to honor the past and ensure the future.

And they did that by hitting the links for the third annual Till Open at Diamond Back Golf Course.

Named for alumni and organizer John Tillery – the outing gives lets folks pay tribute to Canfield residents and veterans for the Fourth of July holiday.

It also acts as a fundraiser for Canfield sports, extracurricular programs and the PTA.

“It’s a tribute to the alumni of Canfield. We’re all very fortunate to have graduated from such a great school. And a lot of them come back anyway to see their relatives for the Fourth of July, and this is a way of giving back to the school,” said Richard Duffett, co-chairman of the Till Open.

Duffett added that to date they have raised about $19,000 dollars and expect to raise another $20,000 this weekend.

He said there were about 150 people at this year’s event.
