CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) – Police say a kitchen worker is among four men charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a popular suburban Cleveland restaurant owner.

Cleveland Heights police say Brennan’s Colony owner Jim Brennan was shot during an attempted robbery at the restaurant Monday and died at a hospital.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1q3otzL ) reports the Cleveland Heights police chief said one of the defendants is a 23-year-old man who had been working in Brennan’s kitchen for about a month.

Chief Jeffrey Robertson says that suspect, his brother and another pair of brothers are expected to make initial court appearances next week on preliminary charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. It’s not clear if those defendants have attorneys.

Police have said the shooting is being investigated as gang-related.
