Patrols coming to Warren bike paths

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – By the end of the summer you will start seeing bike patrols on bike paths in Warren.

City Council is expected to move forward Monday in getting people trained for the bike patrol unit.

The goal is to promote safety and to keep all trails safe in the area.

Councilman John Brown says there is overwhelming support by city leaders in getting bike patrols out and about.

“They do not have arrest powers, they are out there to be liaisons and ambassadors to the city of Warren,” said Brown. “It is to let people know what we have to offer and let people know it is safe.”

The meeting is scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. in the Warren City Council caucus chambers.
