Hearing set for man charged in brutal murder of teen girl

Ricki Williams in court Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A preliminary hearing is scheduled for the man accused in the brutal murder of an Austintown teen.

Ricki Williams, 18, is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Court on Wednesday.

He is charged in the stabbing death of Gina Burger, 16, who went missing June 23 from her Compass West apartment.

Williams was arrested last week on the west side of Youngstown after witness statements and other information led them to his whereabouts.

According to police, Williams held Burger against her will inside a Compass West apartment where he stabbed her to death. Another woman was in the apartment at the time of the murder and said Williams forced her to help him dispose of the body which he carried out of the apartment in a Pack N’ Play and put in a dumpster.

Burger’s body ended up at a waste transfer station in Mercer County where it was discovered by workers there.

Burger’s mother, Jacqueline Bacher, said her daughter left their apartment to borrow tea bags and never returned.
