Some Yo. residents will have to boil water

Youngstown water main break

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Only those residents who received paperwork regarding a Youngstown water main break late Monday night will have to boil their water, according to the Youngstown Water Department.

People affected by the break will need to boil their water for until at least Wednesday morning.

The break happened around midnight Monday near Williamson Avenue. Police noticed the break after seeing water bubbling onto the road and large areas of ponding water stretched across the street.

The water caused part of Market Street to buckle and it took some time before crews got on the scene to make repairs. A new pipe was put in place and the water’s back on this afternoon.

An area of Market Street between Kenmore Avenue and Cleveland Street was blocked off. One lane was blocked southbound coming out of the downtown area.

Repairs should be complete by Tuesday afternoon.
