BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – There were more signs of storm damage Tuesday afternoon in the Cornersburg area.
Trees and power lines were down on Bob O Link Drive. One of the homeowners seeing the damage first-hand was Boardman Township’s interim fire chief, Mark Pitzer.
“I got called to my own residence and I hopped into my car and came down. As you can see, I got a tree on my car and it took down the power lines and service to my home,” Pitzer said.
Another homeowner had a tree land on top of his house. He thought it was just a regular summer storm that hit the area.
“I did not hear nothing out of the ordinary. There were high winds and that for the most part it just seemed like a real heavy storm. I didn’t heat nothing that sounded like a train or anything like that,” Joe Precurato said.
Boardman fire crews are out helping to assist residents with the damage.
There also was major damage in Canfield, which prompted the cancellation of adult education classes at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on Tuesday evening.
