Community ralllies around business owner after fire

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – People in Struthers are rallying around a local business owner after a devastating Memorial Day fire.

A cook-out, Chinese auction, and 50/50 raffle were being used to raise money for Joe Lattanznio, owner of Struthers Tent and Chair rental.

The business was destroyed by fire in May.

Pattie Hutcheson says events such as the fundraiser are important because people need to take care of those in need in their community.

“It is very important because you have to tend to your community. If you don’t tend to your community, you are nowhere,” said Hutcheson. “We have to take care of our people. Once we take care of our people, then we can worry about others.”

The event continues at the Bowery on Midlothian Boulevard in Struthers until 11 p.m. Saturday.
