Fundraiser big success for Hubbard vets

HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Soldiers in need in Hubbard will have a little more help after a fundraiser netted $12,000 to help disabled veterans.

The money was raised by the Hubbard VFW during their annual spaghetti dinner in May.

The proceeds reflect the most that has ever been raised by the group and a $2,000 increase over the past two years.

VFW Post Commander Bobby Orr said the money will be used to help disabled veterans and those in need.

“It is for anything they need, a handicap bathroom, whatever. We do not give the vets money. We make sure the bills are paid. We make sure where the money goes,” said Orr.

This is the sixth year the Hubbard VFW has raised money for disabled veterans through a spaghetti dinner.
