Shooting

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. (WKBN) — Someone tried to shoot a Beaver Falls man early Monday as he was driving on Route 18, but he is now the one in custody.

Pennsylvania State Police said Kevin Haskins, 22, was driving north on state Route 18 just after midnight Monday when another vehicle passed him on the left. Police said the passenger in the passing vehicle shot the windshield of Haskins’ vehicle, causing him to lose control and hit the concrete divider.

Haskins fled the scene and left his vehicle behind. Witnesses told police Haskins put a firearm in the weeds along Route 18 before he ran away, a police report states.

Troopers found a loaded 9-millimeter handgun in the area where Haskins crashed. He was arrested a short time later and taken to the Beaver County Jail on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, illegal possession of a firearm, driving under suspension and other traffic offenses.

Police are still investigating to determine who shot at Haskins.
