Crews battle string of fires in Warren Township

String of fires in Warren Towsnhip

WARREN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – A series of fires in Warren Townshipare under investigation.

The first fire broke out about 1:30 a.m. at an abandoned garage on Meadowbrook Drive. At 2 a.m. crews were called to a fire at a house on the corner of Masters Road and McConnell Road. As they were battling that fire, a call came in for a fire at a house on Eagle Creek Drive.

It is not clear if anyone was living in the houses.

Warren Township Fire Chief Ken Schick said the fires are suspicious and believes they are all related.

“We had a garage fire a half hour before we got called to this fire. We were still fighting the garage fire when we got this one and we were here for approximately fifteen minutes and we got called for the third fire,” Schick said.

The Fire Investigation Unit was called to the scene. While the fires are presumed to have been intentionally set, it is still not clear what was used to ignite them.
