BCI wraps up Trumbull Co. jail investigation

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation announced that it has wrapped up its investigation into the April hostage situation at the Trumbull County Jail.

BCI turned the investigation over to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office.

On April 23, three inmates at the jail took Corrections Officer Joe Lynn hostage for about five hours. The incident ended without injury.

The inmates involved were 29-year-old David Martin, 27-year-old Richard Ware and 24-year-old Kevin Johns. Martin is from the Cleveland/Akron area and faces a murder charge in the shooting death of Jeremy Cole in Warren in September 2012.
