Part of Interstate 75 to close 2 nights in SW Ohio

Road construction

CINCINNATI (AP) – Ohio transportation authorities are urging motorists to plan for detours if they expect to drive overnight later this week through Cincinnati on northbound lanes of Interstate 75.

The state’s Department of Transportation says northbound I-75 lanes will be shut down to remove a railroad bridge from over the interstate just south of state Route 562. Work will start at 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday nights. The highway should open again at 5 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.

The interstate will be closed between Mitchell Avenue and Route 562, just north of downtown Cincinnati.

Authorities suggest motorists take Interstate 74 to Interstate 275 east, which links to I-75 north.

There have been lane restrictions at night this week in preparation.

Arrow boards and signs will advise motorists.
