Former little league coach gets probation

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A former little league football coach in Niles received his sentence Thursday after he pleaded guilty to a sex charge involving a young girl.

James Ingles, 43, was placed on five years probation and must also register as a Tier 2 sex offender. Prosecutors say Ingles had sexual contact with a 9-year-old girl in February of last year.

According to his lawyer, Ingles, who was an assistant coach for the Niles Little Red Dragons, was severely under the influence when the incident occurred and didn’t remember what happened. He must also undergo random drug testing and is prohibited from bars.
