Kickoff time announced for YSU opener

The Youngstown State football team’s season opener against Illinois at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois, will be kickoff at Noon Eastern Time, 11 a.m. Central on August 30, the Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday.

The contest will be televised on the Big Ten Network and carried on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.

It marks the seventh time since 2006 that the YSU football program has visited a Big Ten foe. The contest is first of two games in the state of Illinois for the Penguins. The Guins visit Missouri Valley Football Conference member Illinois State in November.

YSU Head Football Coach Eric Wolford was an assistant coach with the Illinois program for two seasons (2007-08).
