Ohio Edison clears Masury culvert

MASURY, Ohio (WKBN) – As of Thursday, a once-flooded street in Masury is no longer water-logged.

Ohio Edison owns a culvert off Sharon Bedford Road. Inside, beavers had built a dam, blocking the water flow.

This caused major problems for people trying to drive on Third Street in Masury. On Wednesday, our station showed video of how several inches of water stood on the pavement.

The water is now receding after Ohio Edison crews removed the dam. It took some big machinery to get the job done.

Ohio Edison also removed the culvert and replaced the large pipe inside with two pipes to help prevent the beavers from doing it again.
