WaterFire Sharon returns on Saturday

WaterFire Sharon
WaterFire Sharon will debut Saturday after two years of preparation.

SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) – WaterFire Sharon returns this weekend for its second series.

Saturday’s event begins at 11 a.m. with activities all day, including vendors, food and musical entertainment. The lighting ceremony begins around dusk and includes a fire performer.

WaterFire organizers said no two events are the same, and it’s fun for the whole family.

“You smell the pine burning. You see the embers just glittering off the water. You will see four boats tending to those fires after they are lit,” Jennifer Barborak, one of the event’s organizers, said.

Volunteers from the community will be on the boats to help with the lighting ceremony.

WaterFire Sharon also takes place on Aug. 23 and Sept. 27.
