Hermitage PD: Sneeze may have caused crash

2 people were killed in a fatal crash in Austintown, Ohio.

HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) – Christy Road in Hermitage between Hann Hill and Panin Roads was closed for several hours Thursday after a car struck a utility pole after a man said that a sneeze caused him to veer off the road, according to a release from Hermitage Police.

A car operated by Paul Estock, 66, of 206 Dutch Lane, Hermitage, was traveling north on Christy Road just before noon Thursday. Estock’s vehicle veered to the right just north of Hann Hill Road and struck a speed limit sign and a utility pole which required replacement and the closing of Christy Road.

Estock advised that a possible sneeze caused him to travel off the roadway. Estock was not injured.
