Route 18 in Mercer Co. to be detoured starting Monday

MERCER COUNTY, Pa. (WKBN) – Motorists traveling through a stretch of Route 18 in Mercer County, Pa., will be detoured next week.

Starting Monday, nighttime closures are scheduled for the Route 18 bridge on the Shenango River causeway. The northbound lanes of the road will be blocked off, as contractors are removing beams on the northbound lanes of the bridge, according to Jim Carroll of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The section of the road that crosses the Shenango Reservoir between Clark Borough and Pymatuning Township will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Contractors are removing beams on the northbound lanes of the bridge.

A detour will be posted using Route 18, Route 518, Route 846 and Rutledge Road.
