Warren City School district names new superintendent

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren City Schools named Steve Chiaro its new superintendent Friday afternoon, replacing former Superintendent Michael Notar, who announced last month his decision to work for Conneaut Schools in Ashtabula County.

Chiaro will be the interim superintendent until Aug. 1, when he will officially take over as superintendent, according to Warren City Schools Executive Secretary Tracy Preston. Notar has informed the district that he will not be in the district from now until his July 31 resignation date.

Chiaro was formerly working as the associate superintendent for Warren. He also has been a teacher in the district.

According to minutes from Friday’s special Board of Education meeting, Chiaro was granted a three-year contract, but his salary was not included in the hiring resolution.
