Austintown hosts West Side Cats bike show benefit

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Two wheels and a love of animals; that was all that was needed Sunday to help raise money for a local cat shelter.

That’s exactly what brought folks to Austintown Township Park for the third annual West Side Cats bike ride and show. According to organizers, the non-profit, no-kill shelter on Mahoning Avenue is funded solely through donations and run with help from volunteers. Because of that, every show of support is vital.

“It shows community spirit. It shows that the people that love the animals shelters in the area that they have the people’s support,” said David Childers of West Side Cats.

In addition to the bikes, there was also live bands, door prizes, a corn hole contest, prize for best poker hand and refreshments.
