Teen girl fatally shot in central Ohio


COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Police in Columbus are looking for two young males who ran from the scene after a 17-year-old girl was fatally shot.

A police report says Shevona Whitehead was shot in the upper body at about 10 p.m. at a residence on the south side of the city. She was pronounced dead later at a hospital.

Several people were at the residence at the time, and witnesses said two young males left on foot immediately after the shooting. A person of interest has been identified, but his name wasn’t released.

Police don’t know the motive for the shooting.
