Improvements come to Buhl Rec Center

SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) – Major improvements have been made to the Buhl Community Recreation Center in Sharon.

The center has spent close to $200,000 on upgrades within the 114-year-old building on State Street.

Over the past year and half, they’ve created a new state-of-the-art cardio and weight room, as well as added new programs and a juice bar.

Executive Director Tony Rogers said members and donations from the community made it all possible. Special recognition is given to one Sharon family with its Henry and Catherine Evans community service award.

“We are recognizing Tom and Lou Kachulis from Gilbert’s Risk Solutions. The Kachulis family has been involved in our community for decades and this is our way of saying thank you and at the same time raise funds that are necessary to make this a very strong organization,” Rogers said.

The rec center’s community dinner will take place September 10 at Avalon at Buhl Park.
