Basements and backyards flood in Kinsman

KINSMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — The rain came down so hard and fast in northern Trumbull County, news cameras caught what looked like rivers running through roads and backyards off Main Street in Kinsman.

There were also several basements that started filling up with water.

Madolyn Waite said she’s never seen it this bad in her neighborhood and wonders if recent sewer and septic system work might have made things worse.

“You can see where it has come and washed things away. It’s a mess, and over across the street there, the drains can’t even keep up with anything,” said Waite.

Madolyn said she has about six inches of water in her basements.

They’re waiting for the fire department to come pump it out.
