COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) — The Columbiana County Fair held a “soft opening” of sorts on Sunday.
The annual exhibition officially kicks off on Monday, but junior fair members were there setting up their booths.
Also up on Sunday was the garden tractor pull at the grandstands.
As the sun beat down, organizers couldn’t help but think ahead to what kind of weather they can expect this week.
“Weather’s always an issue here. We struggle with the heat, it’s tough on the contestants, the exhibitors as well as the animals. The rain, well we always got to deal with the heat,” said Columbiana County Fair president, John Wolf.
Opening ceremonies for the fair are set for 5 p.m. Monday at the new grandstands, when the 4-H king and queen will be crowned.
