Austintown seeks levy renewal

Austintown trustees

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Township voters will see a renewal levy on the November ballot.

Township trustees approved the ballot measure on Tuesday. The 0.6-mill levy has been on the books for several years and goes into the general fund.

There is no tax increase included in this levy request.

“We are asking for a renewal of our general fund levy. That is just to continue services as we see fit, to continue day-to-day operations, the way things happen in our township,” Austintown Trustee Jim Davis said.

The general fund helps support the general costs of the township, including street paving, police officers, firefighters and park maintenance.
