Reese pulls out of Mahoning County Auditor’s race

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Mahoning County Republican Party leaders are looking for another candidate to run for County Auditor in November after their nominee pulled himself out of the race.

Former Canfield Township Trustee Bill Reese made the decision after suffering an unexpected health emergency recently. He won his party’s nomination during the Primary last May and was set to challenge incumbent Mike Scioritino.

By law, party leaders now have until August 11 to name a successor candidate. They plan to meet the day before that on August 10 to choose someone.

Chairman Mark Munroe said those who are interested should contact him at Mahoning County Republican Party offices at 330-629-7006.
