Struthers fire under investigation

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – A house fire in Struthers Friday night is under investigation.

Crews were called out just after 10 p.m. to 542 Fifth St. for reports of a fire, according to fire Capt. Bill Simcox. When they got there, flames were found in one room on the second floor and a portion of the first floor. The rest of the house suffered some smoke damage.

Simcox estimated damage to be between $60,000 and $70,000.

According to neighbors, the home is not occupied. There were no injuries.

Fourteen firefighters from Struthers were at the scene, aided by Youngstown fire crews. Crews were at the scene for two hours and returned just after 7 a.m. when the blaze rekindled.
