Tree falls through ceiling of Cortland apartment

CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – A tree toppled over in a Trumbull County community during the strong storms Saturday afternoon and landed in an apartment.

The tree fell at the Cortview Village housing community off of High Street in Cortland.

The tree went through the roof and ceiling of one of the units. A witness said it landed in a bedroom.

The housing unit was occupied but no one was hurt.

Crews spent the afternoon cutting the tree up and removing it from the building.

Cortview Village consists of single-story housing units. Mostly senior citizens live in the complex.
