Rain fails to deter Italian Fest crowd

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Even the rain couldn’t keep some residents away from the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest over the weekend.

People still headed downtown on Sunday, braving the elements just to experience a little bit of the Italian culture.

The event’s secretary Anna Clement said that sales were down a little bit last night. She also said that the rain probably hindered attendance, but expects more will show up as the festival winds down by the evening.

“Last night after the rain stopped, I think we had a nice turnout also. And the entertainment is wonderful, I mean you have a tent to sit under, I mean if you have an umbrella to get where you want to go, it’s fun,” said Clement.

The Italian Festivalwill run until 11 p.m. Sunday night.
