Free summer movie series continues

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – It was a free flick under the stars on Monday night.

Pacific Rim was the feature for the city of Youngstown’s summer movie series in the yard of the Covelli Centre downtown. It takes place every Monday night and if it is rained out, it is rescheduled for Tuesday. Parking also is free.

On Monday, two Youngstown natives handed out free ice cream for the approximately 50 movie-goers.

“We love this town. Wife and I were born and raised here, we absolutely love it so we decided when we were kids, they had the ice cream socials and we thought it might be nice to have a little ice cream social down here, so we decided to buy some ice cream and pass it out tonight,” Mike Humes said.

The summer movie series runs through the second week of September.
