YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Youngstown are trying to sort out the details of how a teenager was shot Sunday night.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. on Southern Boulevard. The 16-year-old victim told police he and two others heard several gunshots while walking along the street near Sammi Quick Stop. He said he didn’t know he had been shot until he returned to his Hollywood Ave. home. The teen was hit in the foot.
Youngstown Police said when interviewing the victim and the two witnesses, none of them had the same details in their stories. While searching the victim’s house, officers found no weapons but discovered a bloody slipper and bullet fragments in the toilet.
Police suspect that the gun may have been fired accidentally and took the bullet fragments and slipper in as evidence.
