Tressel ceremony to be open to public

YSU President Jim Tressel

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State University will officially announce Jim Tressel as the ninth school president during a ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in YSU’s Beeghly Center.

The ceremony, which includes the oath of office and an address by Tressel, is open to the public.

Free parking will be available on campus, and a reception will immediately follow the installation ceremony.

After a national search, the YSU Board of Trustees voted unanimously in May to appoint Tressel as the university’s chief executive. He took office July 1.
