More parking coming to downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – There soon will be more places to park in downtown Youngstown.

On Tuesday, Youngstown City Council approved the demolition of two more vacant buildings. One is in the 200 block of West Boardman Street and the other is an old convenience store on South Phelps Street across from City Hall.

Once the buildings are gone, additional parking spaces will be put in their place.

The city also approved landscaping, a fence and patio at the former Paramount Theater site at the corner of Hazel and Federal streets.
