Task force finds meth in Austintown house

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning Valley Task Force served a search warrant at 1149 Ohltown Road Tuesday, finding meth-manufacturing materials and several guns, according to Commander Jeff Solic.

Residents at the address denied manufacturing or using drugs when they spoke with WKBN 27 reporter Nadine Grimley Wednesday.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident, according to Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Marty Desmond.

The Mahoning Valley Task Force is a group made up of area law enforcement agencies that deals mainly with drug and violent crime investigations.

The Mahoning County Children’s Services Board took the family’s two kids and placed them with a family member that the board deemed to be safe, according to Solic.
