Girard man charged with assaulting pregnant woman

GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Police arrested a man in Girard Wednesday afternoon on an assault charge after a woman claimed he pulled her hair and bit her.

A woman told Boardman police she was driving on Market Street when she and William Huff, 25, got into an argument, according to a police report.

The woman said she pulled into the parking lot of Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman when Huff grabbed her by the hair and pulled her down, attempting to bite her. She said Huff hit her near her right eye and bit her chin, according to the report.

The woman said she drove Huff back to Girard, after he threatened further harm, before coming to the Boardman Police station.

Huff is being held in the Mahoning County Jail and is set to appear in Boardman Court Thursday night.

The woman is five months pregnant, according to the report.
