Food bank sends water to Toledo

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is helping residents affected by the recent water emergency in Toledo.

Workers loaded up a truck filled with bottled water on Friday.

Last weekend, residents were told not to use the water after high levels of toxins were discovered. On Monday, the water ban in Toledo was lifted.

“We are pitching in to help our colleagues at the food bank in Toledo, make sure they have enough water on hand for people that are struggling to find clean water and have not had their entire water restored,” Second Harvest Food Bank Executive Director Michael Iberis said.

The food bank said it received the water from an anonymous donor.
