Man run over by car in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A woman was arrested Friday evening after police said she ran over a man with her car at Packard Park.

Police were called to the park about 7:30 p.m. by a witness, who said the man was conscious and talking, according to our print partner, the Tribune Chronicle.

According to police reports, the man told officers that the woman was trying to leave and he stood in front of her car to stop her. She gunned the engine, he backed off, and then stepped in front of her again.

The second time after she gunned the engine, he jumped on the hood. The driver took off, he fell off the car, and she ran over him on the way out, police said.

The woman was arrested about 10 minutes after the incident and charges are pending, the newspaper reported.

The man was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital with “serious visible injuries.” Police at the scene said they did not see any blood on the car, but the Dodge Neon’s windshield was cracked.

The names of the driver and the victim have not yet been released.
