NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WKBN) – People from around the area made their way to the Tri-Lakes Library in North Jackson on Wednesday evening for an ice cream social.
The event was a fundraiser and a celebration of the one-year anniversary of the branch. Deborah Liptak, development director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, said the Tri-Lakes Library is providing many programs for the community.
One of the things she said the library is proud of at that location and other county libraries is their technology.
“Computers are so very important so the technology piece is very important with libraries so the public can come out and use it. As fas as the WiFi, they can bring their devices in and just look up stuff. You can even book a librarian,” Liptak said.
The library system is continuing to grow and an expansion is planned for the Canfield branch.
A Library Luau will be held Aug. 21 at the Lake Club in Poland. The event will raise money for the library’s levy campaign.
