Dumping created a slick mess in Youngstown

Oil spill on McGuffey Road in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Someone looking to cut corners left a mess behind Thursday morning on Youngstown’s east side.

Youngstown Street Department crews were called out to McGuffey Road just after 8 a.m. after someone dumped what appeared to be containers of used motor oil along the roadway creating a slick, slippery mess.

Crews poured a drying agent on the oil to soak it up and keep other cars from rolling through it.

Workers said the remote part of town is a frequent spot for such dumping.
