Grand jury indicts man in east side murder

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a Youngstown man in a fatal east side shooting.

Wesley J. Blackshear, 42, 139 Tod Lane, Youngstown, is charged with aggravated murder in the May 24 shooting death of Brendon Moorer, 34, of Campbell.

Moorer’s body was found in the front seat of a vehicle parked outside the Big Apple gas station at McGuffey Road and Albert Street. He suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Blackshear is also charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of having weapons under disability in connection with the incident.

Blackshear was convicted in October 2000 of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.
