Bank foots bill for YSU parking

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Students driving to the campus of Youngstown State University this week will have a pleasant surprise.

Meters around the school were covered up Monday with plastic that read “Free Parking from your friends at Home Savings.” The bank pays for parking around the university as a random act of kindness for the week that classes begin. Students said they appreciate it, especially since paying to park does add up.

“I love it. It is great. It gives people who do get financial aid and may use that financial aid to pay for their parking a chance for their financial aid to come through,” said YSU sophomore Asia Neville. “I think they should do it a little more than that first week, but it is a good thing that they do.”

The free parking continues through Friday.
