Bicyclist struck by truck in Howland

HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Warren is investigating a hit-skip accident involving a bicyclist.

It happened around 9 p.m. Friday at Route 169 and Ridge Road in Howland. The bicyclist was southbound on Route 169 when he was hit.

Witnesses said it was a truck carrying tree limbs. The driver drove off and may not have realized he hit the cyclist, police said.

The victim was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
