Warren kicks off United Way campaign

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The city of Warren kicked off the United Way of Trumbull County’s campaign Friday morning.

Warren Mayor Doug Franklin cooked hot dogs on the grill for department heads and supervisors at City Hall. It was all an effort to encourage the city workers to donate to the United Way.

Kisha Jackson, who works as an administrative coordinator for the purchasing department, organized the event and said donating to the charity is not only about giving back, but it also helps the city.

“It helps in many ways. It helps with children. It helps with the elderly and it just helps out with our city altogether. Anytime you can do something to bring people together and their name is the United Way, I think it all just comes together in unity for the positive of the city,” Jackson said.

United Way of Trumbull County President Ginny Pasha was on hand as well at the grill. They soon will be announcing their own kickoff campaign.
