Fire damages Ohio grain elevator; no injuries

EVENDALE, Ohio (AP) – Fire at a grain elevator in suburban Cincinnati has caused heavy damage. No injuries were reported.

Hamilton County dispatcher says the fire at the Bunge  North America facility in the village of Evendale was reported around 11:30 a.m. Friday. A firefighter answering the department’s phone in the Cincinnati suburb said he had no information on the cause of the fire or when it was brought under control.

A spokeswoman at Bunge North America headquarters in St. Louis says company officials are working with the fire department to determine the cause of the blaze. Company spokeswoman Deb Seidel (seye-DEL’) says the agribusiness and food ingredients company didn’t have a damage estimate.

Bunge North America is part of Bunge Limited, based in White Plains, New York.
