Hundreds turn out to celebrate Polish culture

YOUNGSTOWN (WKBN) — Hundreds of people are celebrating the Polish Culture at the Polish-American Heritage Days.

Hosted by Polish Youngstown — the two-day event draws in people from across the Valley. There folks are treated good food, a bit of history, and even some cooking classes. Organizers say they like to add something new each year — to keep bringing people back. They say it’s what sets them apart from other heritage festivals.

“I think the difference with ours is that every year we try to add something new so you never know what you’re going to get for example this year we have Youngstown’s best pierogi contest so different valley residents are bringing their best to be, win the title of best pierogi maker,” said Aundrea Cika Heschmeyer, Director of Polish Youngstown.

Polish-American Heritage Days comes to a close tonight at 8 p.m.
