Police: Warren homicide victim was stabbed

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A knife found Friday outside a Bingham Avenue N.W. home may be the weapon used to kill Dominic Bufano on Thursday.

Police said Bufano, 55, sustained puncture wounds from the attack. An autopsy is complete, but the Trumbull County Coroner has yet to release what kind of weapon was used to stab Bufano or the exact cause of death.

Police said shortly after the attack, one of the suspects was seen walking away from the crime scene along the area where that knife was discovered. Bufano’s longtime friend Gehrig Murray stopped by the house on Monday.

“We always talked every year, every month. Betted football games. He was a good guy. We had some great laughs,” Murray said.

Michael Flask lives a few doors down on Bingham Avenue and said he is shocked by what happened. He said he hopes they catch the person soon.

“Oh yeah, I have been on the lookout for stuff going on. I always watch the neighborhood. I have four kids, so I don’t want anyone to comes mess with my kids,” Flask said.

Detectives said they did have a couple leads in the case, but so far nothing has panned out.

Anyone with information on the case can call Warren Police Det. Wayne Mackey at 330-841-2684.
