Eight arraigned in Yo. juvenile shooting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Eight people were arraigned in Mahoning County Court Tuesday morning on charges connected to the murder of a 17-year-old.

Youngstown police said the individuals were part of an incident on Winona Avenue Sunday, Aug. 17, that started as an argument between rival families and ended with the shooting death of Shawn Cortez.

This morning, WKBN has learned that one of the suspects, Davar Porter, recently turned himself in to police.

Authorities have also charged Dejon Jenkins with complicity to murder and aggravated riot in addition to charging four juveniles in the case. Charges against juveniles in the case include two murder charges against David Jenkins, the only juvenile specifically named by prosecutors.
